Marks and Spencers, 2 - 9 Briggate, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6HF

  • 14 Sep 2026
  • | In person
  • | Pre-booking required
  • | Walk / Tour

Join Professor Joyce Hill's walk and discover more about the history of our main city centre street.

Long before the 1626 Leeds Charter we celebrate this year, Maurice Peynell's 1207 Charter saw the foundation of Briggate as a 'new town'. Since then it has remained at the heart of everyday life in Leeds, changing across the centuries but keeping its 1207 footprint to this day.
