This major project, which began in June 2023, has breathed new life into one of Thetford's most iconic landmarks. Over the past year and a half, expert conservators have painstakingly repaired the historic features, returning the tower to its former glory and making it a proud centerpiece of Thetford’s skyline once again.

Step inside the Grade II listed Guildhall to view a fascinating, behind-the-scenes look at the restoration process. The exhibition also delves into the overall history of the Guildhall, which stands on the site of a medieval hall built in 1337. Learn about its long and varied past, from its role as an Assizes Court to a filming location for the TV series "Dad's Army." The exhibition features photographs of the recent work, along with historic plans and architectural drawings that tell the story of the building’s past and present.

Come celebrate the heritage of this remarkable building and its place in Thetford's history.
