The Highlife Centre- Our story, Our history, Young people and family craft session

A relaxed workshop style art session with refreshments aimed at youth and families that are from Ethnic Minorities or Immigrant Families. Families and young people from different cultures (Ghanian, Nigerian etc.) come together to create artwork on what their everyday history in Coventry means to them. Paintings, colourings, scrapbook style photos/print outs of key phrases or literature related to their Everyday History.

This artwork then goes on a board (that will also be painted and decorated during the session) that visitors can see when they come in. There will be 'prompts' like photographs or phrases to help inspire the young people. For example, What is your favourite food from your childhood? Or your favourite day out memory? What does Everyday History mean to you?

Facilitators will allow participants to have free control over the presentation of the board, but will offer support or ideas if needed. The participants ultimately have full control as it is community led.
