Sunday 20th September talk 3-4pm with bell ringing from 2pm. Hear our church history expert, Mary Broughton, take you through the history of St Mary's church and grounds. Enjoy refreshments at the pop-up cafe in the church grounds from 3-5pm.

The first official record of the church is in the Doomsday book of 1086. The oldest part of the current church is no later than the 11th century. Come and hear Mary talk about the Semaphore tower, the commonwealth war graves, famous statue and local artist Sidney Sime. Admire the beautiful stained glass windows some of it dating from the 14th century. So much beauty and history in one place!
Why not start at The Sime Gallery and then cross the road? Listen to the church bells from 2pm, and enjoy a stroll through the churchyard before or after the talk. Don't forget to spend some time enjoying the free refreshments at the pop-up cafe.
