The Lantern, All Saints Church; Past, Present and Future
All Saints church, Main road, Viney Hill, Lydney, Gloucestershire, GL15 4NX
The windows in the apsidal chancel of All Saints Church, Viney Hill welcome travellers ascending the hill from the River Severn below. The windows are immortalised in ‘The Lantern’, a poem by F.W. Harvey. The PCC are looking at ‘reordering’ or changing the interior of the church to make it more user friendly. Visitors will be able to view and comment on options developed through engagement with local groups. At 2.00pm the Nedscroft Community Heritage Group and Dr Roger Deeks will be presenting a talk on ‘The Poet, the Bohemian Novelist and the Gypsy King’ all associated with the church and its locality.
At 7.00pm Forest of Dean Brass will perform a concert (with an entrance fee) in aid of the Forest of Dean Imjin Memorial Project.
