The life of a mathematician: A tour of the Newton Institute, the Mathematics Library, and an underground fluid mechanics lab

Mathematics can seem far removed from everyday life. But the equations, experiments, and models that mathematicians work on become essential to the economy, technology, and other scientific disciplines.
But what does a mathematician really do? On this hour-long free tour, you'll see: the Betty and Gordon Moore Library, where students undertaking what some call the world's most difficult course (the famed Mathematical tripos) come to study; the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, where the most brilliant mathematicians come to collaborate and learn from each other; and a fluid dynamics lab where they are studying how the atmosphere and ocean will change as our climate warms.
Come visit three unique sites on the Centre for Mathematical Sciences campus and learn about the life of a mathematician.
