Visit the Long Shop - where one of the the the world's earliest examples of a production line helped to transform the East Coast of Suffolk into a global manufacturing centre.

The Long Shop Museum tells the stories of the agricultural and industrial revolutions, of Victorian engineering excellence, and of the people that made it all possible. The Long Shop itself is Suffolk's 'Cathedral of Engineering', a Grade II* listed building that is internationally significant both historically and architecturally.

Accessibility details

The upper floor of the Long Shop is only accessible via a steep staircase. The rest of the museum is wheelchair -friendly.

Additional information

There are regular buses running to Leiston from Saxmundham, and regular trains running to Saxmundham from Ipswich/Lowestoft.
