Visit New Ashgate Gallery during Heritage Open Days 2026 and meet artist Susie Lidstone as she paints in the gallery.
Susie is a British watercolour artist renowned for her detailed architectural paintings, particularly those depicting the historic buildings and alleyways of Farnham, Surrey. Her work captures the unique character of each structure, with a particular emphasis on the intricate textures of bricks and the interplay of light and shadow. Susie's fascination with architecture is evident in her meticulous attention to detail, bringing to life the rich heritage of the areas she portrays.
Responding to this year's theme, Everyday Histories, Susie will create work inspired by Farnham's hidden spaces, local stories and overlooked details. Her paintings often explore the quiet character of familiar places, making this a thoughtful and engaging way to see the town through an artist's eyes.
Visitors are welcome to drop in, watch Susie at work, ask questions and hear more about the ideas behind her forthcoming 2027 calendar.
