Visit the state (and some other rooms),talks on Thundercliffe's past and present, discover C18 plunge bath and other garden features, leaflets, residents as guides and informants and refreshments.(cash only).

Thundercliffe Grange has been, in turns, a Norman Hermitage, a Monastic Grange, a Gentleman's House, Manor House for Rotherham and Kimberworth, a Mental Asylum for Ladies, a School /Hospital for children with severe Mental or Physical problems, and now a cooperative housing project.

Visitors will have an introductory talk, a chance to walk around much of the ground floor, with residents on hand to talk about the house and history , guided tours of some of the features of the grounds, and leaflets and refreshments. There will also be a running programme of talks by residents about the past and present of the house, grounds and residents

Accessibility details

Toilets wide enough for wheel chairs, but no grab rails etc. Grounds are uneven, so those wishing to see the grounds features need sensible shoes.
