St Pauls Wordsworth Avenue
St. Pauls Church Hall, Wordsworth Avenue, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S5 9JH
St Paul's was opened in 1959, after the Church was established 10 years earlier, meeting in the Hall next door. Designed by Sir Basil Spence, who designed Coventry Cathedral at a similar time, it is a Grade II* listed building - and still a active Church community today.
Our Altar Frontal was made by Beryl Dean, one of the most prominent Church embroiders of her time. On Saturday 19th September, our Church will be open from 10am-3pm, with refreshments served in our Hall throughout; with talks by Diana Philips, a friend of the late Beryl Dean, taking place at 11am and 1pm. There will be chance to ask questions to Diana as well.
Throughout the day, visitors will be able to look around the Church, visiting the original features of the Church which were designed by Sir Basil Spence. Members of the Church will be hand to share what we know about the building, as well as sharing about what the Church does and is doing today on the ground.
