Tours and curated talks at the Turner Museum of Glass, University of Sheffield.

Come along to the Turner Museum of Glass at the University of Sheffield for a guided tour and in-depth discussion of one of the UK's most fascinating and comprehensive collections of nineteenth and twentieth century glass.
Learn about Professor William E S Turner, who began life in 1882 as a sickly child in a working-class family in the ‘Black Country’, but who became an internationally renowned expert in Glass in all its forms. His collection of glass objects, acquired throughout a lifetime of travels and research during the first half of the twentieth century, makes up the basis of the museum’s exhibits. See the fibre glass wedding dress that Turner gifted to his wife, wine glasses engraved with secret political statements, a mosaic displaying the history of glass making and much more.
