Tower Tours at St Mary's Church, Thornbury

To celebrate Open Heritage Day on Saturday 13 September, St Mary's Church in Thornbury will be opening its church tower to visitors, offering a unique viewpoint of the South Gloucestershire countryside.
Visitors can climb the tower to the top and, on the way, learn about the church bells in the ringing room. The climb involves 133 uneven stairs and is quite a workout to reach the top. The climb is not suitable for children under 8 years old.
While the tours are free, booking is essential and subject to weather conditions.
The church offers wheelchair access, but unfortunately, the tower does not.

Access to the tower is restricted to those aged 8 and above. Unfortunately, there is no disabled access to the tower but the main church is accessible to all.
