Treasures of the Thoresby Society's Archive
The Leeds Library, 18 Commercial Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 6AL
As well as the slideshow we will be displaying some of our old maps, some of the more famous sales particulars, and recently acquired resources. There will be an exhibition of sketches and a plan of the house in KIrkgate of Ralph Thoresby, to commemorate his death 300 years ago, as well as other items from the archives with reference to building. Copies of our own recent publications: "Miscellany" (2023) and "The Leeds Bantams, a testimony of the Great War" (2024) will be available for purchase.

The exhibition is on the first floor of the building and is accessible by stairs and a stair lift and a separate lift. The Thoresby Room is accessed from the Main room and the Bibliography passage. Both doors open outwards and are 85cm wide. The floor in this room is level throughout.
To access our new lift go to the door between Ann Summers and Cinnabon. Press the bell and ask to be admitted to the Exhibition. The lift is facing you at the end of the corridor. Go to floor 1. Turn right on exiting the lift and go past the library counter to the Thoresby Room.
