Tuckers Hall - Incorporation of The Guilds of Weaver, Fullers and Shearmen
140 Fore Street, Exeter, Devon, EX4 3AN
A Guildhall for the Principal Guilds of the Woollen Cloth trades built in 1471. The building was initially open internally but has been halved by a ceiling since the 16th C. During the pre-Reformation years, it was a Roman Catholic chapel but subsequently became a secular Guildhall. The impact of the Woollen Cloth trade on Exeter cannot be overstated. In the census of 1676, it was determined that 80% of the City population was employed in some aspect of the trade, and the revenues achieved made Exeter the 3rd richest City outside London.
Displays are over 2 levels and include static information boards, interactive touchscreens and other tactile exhibits. It is hoped, though not yet confirmed, to have live displays of spinning, weaving and dyeing ongoing as a special event during HODs. Members of The Devon Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers will hopefully provide this.

Medieval building not designed with mobility access in mind. Many stairs both external and internal. Some assistance may be given but it will depend on which volunteers are on duty.
