Two Western Heights Gun Batteries Walk
Drop Redoubt, Drop Redoubt Road, Dover, Kent, CT17 9DZ
During last Winter, volunteers from WHPS worked at clearing vegetation and rubbish from the sites at Drop Battery, and St Martins Battery, revealing parts of the structures that had been lost for decades.
This tour will enable you to explore both sites, and learn about the story that links them. There will be a few surprises on the way, too.
The walk, which will take about one and a half hours, will be going off the regular pathways, and may be muddy, and very slippery underfoot, so please wear appropriate shoes. It will also involve ascending a long flight of stairs, so will not be suitable for pushchairs, or for anybody with mobility problems. Dogs are welcome
