A stroll with local historian Chris Fozzard focusing on the village’s development in the 19th and 20th century.

First recorded in the Domesday Book, the village has expanded considerably since Victorian times, with many buildings from this period remaining.

The walk includes stops at places of historical interest including the church, war memorial and cockpit. Your knowledgeable and experienced guide will talk about the area from its earliest times, though the focus will be on the 19th and early 20th centuries. There will be stories about some of Upton’s past influential residents, including the tale of when Earl Haigh visited Upton Lawns and was met by Frost and Snow.

After the walk there will be an opportunity to ask more and have refreshments in the village hall.
