Southampton Music in the City’s resident poetry party will be in Quilter’s Vault on Saturday 12 September from 12pm for more FREE word wizardry, featuring a gaggle of glorious local poets ready to take Southampton by storm. And This year, we’ll also be joined by four Forward Prizes poets, who will be wowing us with their nationally and internationally acclaimed creative work. Plus, there’s the chance to do a bit of scribbling ourselves, with a very special Creative Sparks workshop! It’s going to be exceptional.

- Quilter's vault opens on to the High St and is named after Eliza Quilter who owned the ancient vault, and the Royal George Hotel above it, in the late 1800s. Excavations have revealed that the vault dates back to the 1270s when the wine trade was flourishing in Southampton.
