A chance to see some old photographs of Villages near Stamford.

Stamford has since the times of the Domesday Book been on the edge of Lincolnshire where Rutland and Northamptonshire (and today modern Cambridgeshire) meet. The Villages around the town have historically looked to Stamford rather than their county towns as a market place for their goods and services. This is as true, if not more so, in the days of the motor car as it was in the days of the horse and cart. This short visual presentation using the screen in Discover Stamford, will show some of these villages before the last War.
A rural idyll, that some would say is sadly long gone.
Villages include; Barnack, Carlby, Collyweston, Duddington, Easton On The Hill, Empingham, Essendine, Great Casterton, Ketton, Little Casterton, North Luffenham, Ryhall, South Luffenham, Tallington, Tinwell, Thornhaugh, Uffington, and Wittering.
