Wakefield Civic Society Architectural Photography Competition and Exhibition

For this year's Heritage Open Days, Wakefield Civic Society is running an architectural photography competition. We invite you to submit photographs of Wakefield's buildings in three categories - city centre, suburban and rural (countryside). There are three age groups in which you can enter - under 18, 18-25 and 26+. The best photographs in each category and age group will will a cash prize of £100 and there is an additional prize of £250 for the best overall photograph. Entries will be exhibted at Wakefield Exchange (WX), Union Street, Wakefield, during the Heritage Open Days period, 12th - 21st September and there will be a prize event when the winners will be announced at WX on the evening of Thursday, 18th September. Photographs should be submitted by email rather than in print.

The photography exhibition will be open to view during Wakefield Exchange opening hours: Wednesday 9am - 6pm Thursday & Friday 9am - 10:30pm Saturday 10am - 10:30pm Sunday 10am - 4pm

The photography competition is open to anyone and is free to enter. The closing date for submissions is 5pm on Friday, 29th August 2025.
