As part of the Westgate Heritage Action Zone project funded by Wakefield Council and Historic England, the Society published a book about the history of the street and surrounding area. The book's author, Civic Society President Kevin Trickett MBE, will give an illustrated talk about how the book came to be written while exploring the history of the Heritage Action Zone.

The talk will be held in the Society's room at the Town Hall and everyone who attends will be given a free copy of the book.
