Discover Wakefield - a City of Sculpture and Public Art - Guided Walk

Meet outside the Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, WF1 2HQ

  • 15 Sep 2024
  • In person

Join Wakefield Civic Society for a walk looking at art and sculpture visible in and around the city centre.

You don't have to go to a gallery to see art and sculpture! Just walking around the city centre, you can see all sorts of artwork from specially commission sculptures, statures, monuments and decorative architectural details.

On this walk, we will point out details you might never have noticed and help you to discover some of the intriguing artwork that is visible just by strolling around Wakefield's streets - and sometimes looking up.

The walk is based on the Society's book "Wakefield: City of Sculpture and Public Art" published in 2019. All participants will receive a free copy of the book (pictured above) which usually sells for £3.50.
