Walkley's Victorian Cemetery - Open Day

Walkley Cemetery, Nichols Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S6 5DU

  • 12 Sep 2026
  • | In person
  • | Pre-booking not required
  • | Site opening

A chance to stroll through our beautiful burial ground, full of wildlife and rich in history. You can chat with our volunteers during our monthly work session and find out how we manage the site for heritage, remembrance and nature.

Our cemetery is the resting place for a community. We care for and study it as a link between the Walkley of the past and the present. We will have some of the results of that research on hand. These may include the stories of cutlers and masons, soldiers and sailors, teachers and officers of the law, artists and film makers. We can also show you how we are working to preserve and enhance the cemetery as a green space. If you have family buried here we can help find and clear graves. Everyone is welcome.
