Wolverton Community Orchard Autumn Celebration
Wolverton Community Orchard, Alleyway off Woburn Avenue, Wolverton, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK12 5AY
The Community Orchard pushes the boat out to encourage people of all ages to celebrate our space. We hold three events a year to raise money through sales of plants, jams and chutneys as well as through providing burgers, beers, teas and cakes to keep the orchard ticking over.
Local musicians set up and play music throughout our events and to weather-proof the event we have two sizable gazebos.
Teas and coffees are served from the railway carriage. We use a generator to provide electricity for this purpose. The homemade cakes are donated by volunteers.
The place is wheelchair and child friendly as far as the area contains no steps but it is natural grass. We set up a stall especially for children to make crafts from sustainable materials. We also have face- painting.
In the past families have set themselves a space for the afternoon with a picnic blanket so they can listen to the music.
In the same area, the Town Council will have a stall to promote the Scarecrow Festival.
