Friends of Waterloo Park

Angel Road, Norwich, Norfolk, NR3 3HX

Visit this stunning park with panoramic views from the balcony of the Grade II listed Pavilion and an exhibition of the history of the park. See the results of our experiments with our own dye plants to reflect the history of dyeing in the area.

See our extensive exhibition of the history of the park which was designed by Capt. Sandys-Winsch after WWI used the labour of the many unemployed men post-war. Follow the development and changes in the park and its many distinctive features since its opening in 1930. The imposing view from the roof terrace includes many significant local features, seen using binoculars we provide and in detailed photographs. Also, because of the history of dyeing and weaving in the local area, we will be presenting an exhibition based on dyes extracted from plants in our dye beds. We will run children's activities on this theme.

This event took place in September 2023 and the entry is now archived.
