Transformed with vibrant colours, and lots of creativity, the Rochdale Town Hall Steampunk Festival will dazzle you with this alternative heritage. With live entertainment, family friendly fun, jaw dropping costumes, this is not one to miss.
A stitch in time
For those keen to leave their own mark on history, this unique community project offers the chance to get involved in a very special piece of storytelling. Inspired by a remarkable wartime keepsake created when visiting Scottish officers signed a farmhouse tablecloth in 1914, visitors are invited to add their own stitches to a modern tribute. Whether you're a seasoned sewer or have never threaded a needle before, everyone is welcome to contribute to this modern version of everyday history.
Trip down memory lane
Ever wondered what your high street looked like 50 or even 100 years ago? Well Wombwell can tell you about theirs! From bakers and butchers to watchmakers, the businesses of the past were often very different from the shops we know today. This fascinating exhibition at Wombwell Cemetery brings the high street's history back to life, showcasing the familiar faces who once served the town, what they sold, and the role they played in everyday community life.

Take a stroll around Humberston and see a host of creative scarecrow characters popping up throughout the area, celebrating the past and present everyday heroes of Humberston Fitties alongside a few recognisable famous faces. This unique woodcarving and longboat workshop gives you the chance to branch out and try some traditional techniques that date back to the Saxon times. Plus for those wanting to chat more about Totnes’ early past or boat and crafting techniques, why not bring along a picnic and stay to meet some fellow enthusiasts.

This family fun day is a celebration of our shared heritage and an insightful opportunity to explore the stories that helped shape communities in Leeds today.
