A talk on the history of Chatham House and the Lion Brewery
Chatham House, 351 High Street, Rochester, Kent, ME1 1DA
Chatham House was built in c1720 as the brewery mansion of the Hulkes Lane Brewery. It became the Lion Brewery in 1877 and closed in 1912 before becoming the furniture and retail outlet of the Featherstone family.
The brewery mansion has undergone a substantial refurbishment and brewing on the site is being revived. 2026 Lion Brewery ale will be available to taste on the evening.
