Architects of Loughborough, with Loughborough Heritage Open Weekend
Granby Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 3DU
Have you ever looked around at the buildings in Loughborough's town centre and wondered who might have been the architect behind them?
On this circular guided walk around Loughborough town centre, you'll come across lots of interesting-looking buildings, and delve into the stories of some of the architects who were involved in their design. Some may have been prolific architects based in Loughborough, and their buildings sit comfortably alongside those designed by architects from across our region, like Leicester, Nottingham, and Lincoln. Yet other buildings were conceived by architects from the UK's great metropolis! This all makes for an interesting townscape!
Please note that walks take place whatever the weather, so please dress appropriately. Note also that there are no trained first aiders available on this walk.
There are no planned refreshment stops, but there are plenty of choices in the town centre, including national chains, and a wealth of unique local independent coffee shops.
The closest car park to the starting point is Granby Street, but there are other car parks available.
Meet on the steps of the Charnwood Museum, in Queen's Park.
