Berwick Community Choir Open Invitation and Workshop
Maltings Cinema at Berwick Barracks, The Barracks, Parade, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1DF
Inspired by the 12th – 14th Century religious communities in and around Berwick, Gareth Hudson & Toby Thirling are exploring ideas of the sacred in contemporary Berwick life. Along with Northumberland composer Eleanor Cully-Boehringer and many local choirs and choirmasters, they will create and record a new choral motet. This event is an open invitation to find out more about the project and to express your interest in being part of it. Gareth and Toby’s research is deeply rooted in the history and heritage of North Northumberland, and at this event they will give an insight into their past work and their research so far in the archives, as well as extending the invitation to join the community choir and how to get involved.
Come along and find out more about this project which uses the Living Barracks collections as inspiration.
