Chatham House was built in c1720 and is the former brewery mansion of the Hulkes and latterly Arkcoll brewers. In the early 20th century, the site became the Featherstones furniture and carpet shop. The Grade II* listed mansion house is undergoing restoration and the brewery, that last operated in 1912, is reopening complete with tap room.
