Chester Castle Exclusive - Civil War Guided Tours

English Heritage are celebrating the 2025 September Heritage Open Days by offering exclusive themed guided tours of Chester Castle. Learn more about the 1000 year history of this fascinating site and the people who inhabited the castle . You will get to explore the Agricola Tower, its Medieval Chapel and wall paintings. Tours last approx 1.5 hours and all are welcome. Please be aware the Agricola Tower has a spiral staircase. Dogs welcome on leads. The tours are suitable for ages 12 and above
The Civil War themed guided tours are on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September at 12 noon. Please arrive no later than 10 minutes before your tour is due to start.
Entrance to the Castle is via the County Court Car Park. You can park for a charge in the County Court Car Park or Little Roodee Car Park.
