Stoney Royd Heritage Hunt

Become a heritage explorer and set off on an exciting adventure around Stoney Royd Cemetery!
Children and families are invited to take part in our fun, self-guided Heritage Hunt, searching for clues, spotting fascinating memorials and discovering some of the incredible stories hidden within one of Calderdale's most historic cemeteries.
Along the route, young explorers will complete an activity sheet by finding a variety of features, symbols and points of interest. They'll learn about local history, nature, remembrance and the remarkable people who helped shape Halifax—all while enjoying the outdoors in a safe and engaging way.
The hunt has been designed to encourage curiosity, observation and a love of local heritage, making history accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages.
Once completed, participants can return their activity sheet to receive a small certificate celebrating their achievement and helping to preserve the stories of Stoney Royd for future generations.
Suitable for families with children of all ages. Adult supervision is required throughout.
