Collage at the Cottage

Join us for a relaxing evening of escapism and creativity at Stoneywell. Suitable for everyone from experienced scrapbookers to complete beginners, this is a unique opportunity to have fun, get creative and unwind in the garden as the sun sets. You can take inspiration from the family home, nestled in a quiet corner of the Charnwood Forest, and the natural landscape that surrounds it - or just have fun with a variety of materials to create your own collage at the cottage!

Under a marquee lit with fairy lights and decorated by our team, sip on mocktails while you create. You can make a scrapbook to fill with colour, pattern and designs - or, if you're a seasoned scrapbooker, you can bring your own scrapbook with you instead. We'll provide a mountain of materials for you to play with, including pressed flowers from the garden, and we'll also provide polaroid cameras for you to snap your own photos of your evening.

Take a wander around the garden and the cottage as the evening stretches on. Stretch out on a picnic blanket in the orchard, cosy up on a sofa in the sitting room, or take a stroll among the heather and bilberry bushes as dusk falls. We will provide a range of mocktails - for free! - but there won't be any food provided, so bring along some snacks or a picnic.

This event is funded by New Wave, and has been co-created with a group of people aged 18-30.

Please park in our visitor car park on Whitcroft's Lane (LE67 9QE, w3w ///poets.hack.landmark) during your timeslot. Our shuttlebus will transport you down to Stoneywell. If the bus isn't there when you arrive, it'll be with you shortly! Don't drive? The 29/29a bus from St Margaret's Bus Station runs to Markfield. Accessibility details

There is a shuttlebus that will provide transport to/from this event, which includes steep steps to board. If you are unable to transfer onto the bus, please contact us ahead of the event and we can arrange for you to be dropped off at the property. This is an outside event on a level but grassy area. To reach this space, there are steep slopes across uneven terrain. There is level access to the Dining Room of the cottage only.

Additional information

This event is not suitable for children. This event will be taking place outside under a marquee, so please ensure you dress for the weather! We will be providing free mocktails as part of this event, but there will be no other refreshments available as our tearoom will be closed. You are more than welcome to bring some snacks or a picnic with you for this event.
