Cottingham Zion United Reformed Church
201 Hallgate,, Cottingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU16 4BB
This Grade II* historic building, built in 1819, has a beautiful interior with slender pillars, gallery, box pews and a 1896 organ with hand bellows. There has been a church on the site since 1692. Originally, it was part of the Congregational Church of England and Wales, which joined with the Presbyterian Church in 1972 to form the United Reformed Church. The former manse, next to the chapel, built 1852 – 65, is now a private house.
In its social area at the back, the church has a weekly food bank for Cottingham residents.
There will be leaflets about the church available and people to show you round.
