Cuthbert Broderick designed oasis of calm, in the bustle of busy Headingley
9 Alma Road, Headingley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS6 2AH
We will have an external wildlife trail around the gardens of our grade II listed Church House on Alma Road. There are many birds and wildlife using the garden. We have beautiful mature trees, shrubbery plants. Within the grounds is the old coach house which has been turned into our beautiful tiny Lutheran Church, a view inside of the church will be included in the garden trail. Within the Cuthbert Broderick designed Church House, we will showcase most of the original features which still remain in this Grade II listed building. The library within the house was originally used, after purchase by the Lutheran Church in 1985, for church services while the coach house was converted to our beautiful little church. The library is still used for services during the week, with the main church being in use on Sundays. Around the grounds and the house will be laminated signs and pictures which will describe what people should be able to see. This trail will be interesting for both adults and children. There will be a scavenger hunt for children as they go around the garden. Within the house, in the library and the meeting room, there will be books and things to entertain children and information about the background of the Lutheran Church and the architect Cuthbert Broderick. The library contains many very old books, including an original leather bound bible from 1845.

There is a ramp at the side of the house to facilitate wheelchair access to the toilet- unfortunately the rest of the house and church is not wheelchair accessible. Some of the garden is partially wheelchair accessible.
