Discover Stirchley Baths Community Centre
2-4 Bournville Lane, Birmingham, West Midlands, B30 2JT
A swimming baths for Stirchley was first proposed in 1903. Land was gifted to Kings Norton Council by Cadbury Bros and the building was opened in 1911. It included washing baths in addition to the swimming pool.
It was at the centre of Stirchley life for many years (for a time hosting dances in the winter when the Baths were boarded over).
After the building closed there were calls for it to be demolished but intense lobbying by local residents gained it a Grade 2 listing which saved the building.
In 2016 it opened in its current guise as a Community Centre.
There will be 2nd hand local history books on sale.
Tours will be bookable on the day. Stirchley Market may restrict access to some areas.
