Amy is Professor of Dress History and Curatorship at the University of the Arts London. Formerly she was fashion curator at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
She is co-author, with Valerie D. Mendes, of Worth: Portrait of an Archive (V&A Publications, 2014).
Charles Frederick Worth was a highly creative fashion innovator who was instrumental in forming the foundations of today's modern fashion industry. This extensively illustrated talk will examine Worth's fashion aesthetic and signature styles, the working practices of his haute couture house and his legacy.

Amanda Goss is a Senior Lecturer in Fashion with over 20 years of industry experience prior to entering academia. Her professional background lies in fashion design, having worked with major international labels before progressing into management and successfully launching her own globally distributed brand.
In this session, Amanda explores the enduring relevance of trickle-down theory; from the origins of designer-led influence, beginning with the father of couture, Charles Worth, to its manifestation in today’s fast-paced fashion trends and consumer culture.
