Geological Ramble around the General Cemetery

Led by two Geologists from different working backgrounds our aim is to look at rocks in and around the Cemetery from the gatehouse entrance to the placed rock spiral in the cemetery. We will look various gravestone geological types to work out which rock you would want to pick for your memorial! We will also examine the Gatehouse entrance and see if we can spot a problem in its initial construction. Finally, by the chapel we will be able to see a few unused ‘Art Deco’ gravestones before we go into the chapel where refreshments will be available at a small charge.
