Meopham Windmill - Special Event
Meopham Windmill, South Street, Cricket Green, Meopham, Kent, DA13 0QA
Meopham Windmill welcomes families and mill enthusiasts to a Free Guided Tour of this unique 6 sided windmill.
A beautiful Grade II* listed building, this mill has recently been restored by Kent County Council and is managed by the Meopham Windmill Trust to secure the mill for future generations.
The windmill’s black smock tower stands on a red brick base of two storeys. It is now preserved with all its machinery including three pairs of millstones.
The restoration was completed in June 2025 and Meopham Windmill is now regularly open to the public and provides guided tours and bespoke events.
The sweeps/sails are turned off during tours and we have a reasonably priced souvenir stall.
*Please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
*Children are only allowed up into the levels of the windmill if they can manage the wooden stairways themselves or can be safely carried up by an adult.
*No parking on site so please be prepared to walk. Disabled access for drop off may sometimes be arranged but not promised.
*No Disabled Access for the Tour but a showcase presentation is run in the ground floor base room and Tour Guides are happy to explain.
Inside Meopham Windmill, children have fun looking for 12 cute and cuddly rats hiding around the mill. When they find all 12 cheeky rats they can win a special Badge and Certificate.
