Lancashire Archives is home to millions of historical documents that help tell the remarkable story of Lancashire and its people, dating back to 1115. Join the team to discover how these invaluable collections are preserved and made accessible for future generations in the iconic 1970s Record Office building – a fine example of modernist architecture! Explore how letters, photographs, maps, parish registers and personal archives reveal the lives, experiences and communities that have shaped Lancashire over the centuries with a tour behind the scenes to areas not normally open to the public and full of archive treasures… it could lead you to finding fascinating insights into your ancestry and local history, and who knows what else!

Places are limited to 15 people per tour so click the link to book your space.
Talks are also being held in County Hall Chambers and Christ Church Chapel as well as being open for you to learn more about council services - for more information on these events please see our booking site.
For the first time we'll also be opening up Reflections Restaurant in County Hall giving visitors the chance to relax, reminisce and enjoy some much-loved Lancashire favourites.
