Oldbury Pump Station Tour
Waterside Buildings, Oldbury Lane, Oldbury-on-Severn, Bristol, Bristol, BS35 1RF
Lower Severn Internal Drainage Board are opening their doors to the public for the first time. As well as a guided tour of the Pumping Station from our Civil Engineer, there will also be a tour of our working service yard, with various large pieces of operational machinery on display. These vehicles are used to manage over 570km of water courses throughout the region.
Oldbury Pumping Station still retains it's charm from when it was first built in the 1970's, with its original control panels still in working order. Watch as thousands of cubic metres of water flows into the Rhine as our engineers demonstrate how the pumps work. As part of a £10m refurbishment scheme Oldbury will be transformed into a more efficient station so this is the only chance for the public to see it working in its current state.
We will host two tours on Wednesday 17th September 2025 and there will be free refreshment's and a questions and answer session with our engineers and Board members.
