Sparrow's Nest at War

The Lodge, Belle Vue Park, Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR32 4AL

  • 20 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

A chance to explore part of the hidden wartime history of North East Lowestoft with aviation historian Bob Collis and Leo Whisstock of the Royal Naval Patrol Service Museum. An insight into how two World Wars affected Britain's most-easterly town.

Sparrows Nest Gardens narrowly escaped destruction from enemy attacks in two World Wars.

This 'war walk', especially organised by Lowestoft Town Council's Town Hall Project, gives a unique opportunity to learn how conflict reshaped this part of the town. The fingerprints of war are still visible and the tour guides will be highlighting some of them, culminating in a visit to the amazing RNPS Museum.
