Step Back in Time - Berwick Barracks
The Maltings Cinema, Berwick Barracks, Parade, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1DF
Sit back and relax in the Maltings Cinema at the Barracks and gain an insight into what it was like to live in the Barracks in the 20th century until the KOSB ceased using the building as a working Barracks in 1963.
The Living Barracks Project is a partnership between English Heritage, The Maltings (Berwick) Trust, Kings Own Scottish Borderers, Northumberland County Council and BBHT. It is breathing new life into Berwick’s historic Barracks, restoring their place at the heart of the town’s cultural and community life. Ahead of the site’s full reopening in 2028, an inspiring programme of art, heritage and community projects is already unfolding - created with and for the people of Berwick, thanks to the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK Government’s Cultural Development Fund. Together, we’re rediscovering what the Barracks have been, will be and could become.
