It's not just about buildings but arguably more so the landscape architecture over the centuries by four famous people!
• Architecture: the 90th anniversary of the Memorial Gardens, designed by Edward White (past President of the Institute of Landscape
Architects)
• Architecture: the centenary of Gray's monument being handed over from the people of Stoke Poges to the National Trust. Find out about
the design of the over 200 year old monument and late 20th century restoration
• Architecture: view the middle lych gate. A recently designated nationally heritage asset - Listed Grade II, designed by John Oldrid Scott, the
architect son of the more famous architect, Sir George Gilbert Scott.
* Architecture: visit the Grade I Listed old St. Giles' church and find out how it has been developed from 12th century development to a thorough restoration in 2017
* Architucture: view the bell chamber where you can explore the fitting of the heavy bells and how they don't fall on anyone!

• Enjoy the splendid views from the Memorial Gardens across the lake and Repton bridge to Stoke Park Mansion House or the views, all created by world famous landscape architects: Lancelot 'Capability' Brown; Humphry Repton and Harry Shapland Colt (golf course architect)

Main paths are tarmac. Earth path from Church/National Trust car park area to Gray's Monument. There is a two storey high iron steps on the outside of St Giles' church tower in order to access the bell room. Only assistance dogs welcomed in the Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens
Stoke Poges Memorial Gardens are Grade 1 Listed on the national heritage Park & Garden register. It is only 1 of 6 in the whole of the Buckinghamshire. St. Giles' church is Grade 1 Listed. The middle lychgate is Grade 2 Listed. Gray's Monument is Grade 2 Listed. Church Cottage (the Memorial Gardens office) is Grade 2 Listed. Tomb of Thomas Gray, his mother Dorothy Gray and his aunt Mary Antrobus in churchyard of St Giles Church is Grade 2 Listed. Stoke Park estate landscape is a Grade 2 Listed Park & Garden.
