Step Into the Sounds and Stories of the Stamp Room – Free Taster Tours!
These bite-sized tours are the perfect introduction to the Coffin Works. You’ll explore the Courtyard and Stamp Room of the original Victorian manufactory, where you’ll get a glimpse into the factory’s early years — complete with live demonstrations of our working Victorian machinery.
Tours run every 30 minutes from 11am to 3pm, lasting around 30 minutes each. Please note: this tour focuses on the ground floor and does not include the upper levels of the museum.
Spaces are limited and must be pre-booked to guarantee your place.
And don’t forget to visit our café on the day – serving up drinks, treats, and a great way to enjoy our historic courtyard.

Accessibility details
Access to the building for wheelchair users is through the double gates into the courtyard, to the left of the main entrance. Staff are always at hand to help and can guide visitors into the courtyard, then via the accessible ramp into the shop. This is where you can check-in for your pre-booked visit, purchase tickets and or browse our range of souvenirs. Please ring the buzzer for ‘Coffin Works’ Office’ for the attention of staff at the metal gates.
