The Vale 5th Birthday

From 10am to 4pm, explore a mix of FREE wellbeing, music, dance, craft and garden activities across The Vale. There's something for all interests and ages! Start the day with a relaxing sound bath and mindful breathwork sessions, get creative with hands on family craft sessions, experiment with fragrant plants in the community garden and make your own juice with our apple press. Carnival activities include Brazilian drumming, Carnival Ceilidh dancing and 'Meet The Puppet Maker'. There will also be the chance to join a fantasy table top game or paint your own miniature model, take part in a story trail around the Vale and enjoy an art exhibition.

- We are located towards the top of Micklehurst Road in Mossley. We recommend using public transport to reach us where you can – for environmental reasons but also because we have limited car parking spaces at The Vale. A limited number of accessible parking spaces. We are around ten to fifteen minutes’ walk from Mossley train station – though it is all uphill. If travelling to Mossley by car from Manchester, take a right into Micklehurst. Travel up Micklehurst Road, over several speed bumps, past Micklehurst Primary School on your left. Take your next right turn and we are in the building directly ahead. Look out for our logo. Bus routes 348 and 350 all serve Huddersfield Road / near Micklehurst Road stop. Based in Mossley, in the foothills of the Peak District, The Vale is a former textile mill converted to a state-of-the-art venue for all kinds of artistic, creative and Carnival happenings. In the community, The Vale is perhaps best known for our live performance venue where a whole host of different music, theatre, dance and community events take place. Our space is also used by our resident Carnival arts organisations, Global Grooves and Cabasa, to develop new Carnival productions, train new and emerging Carnival artists, and host masterclasses
