Walking Wycombe with Willie - Lawbreakers and Lawmen

Meet at the We Make Wycombe Hub beside the Little Market House on the High Street. The Walk will finish at Penn Mill this guided walk uncovers stories of the 1830 Machine Breakers Riots, a notorious murder at Reddy House on Oxford Road, and a local newsagent who found himself on the wrong side of the law.
Along the route, we'll pass through Frogmoor, go past High Wycombe Police Station and the Magistrates' Court, where we'll explore the criminal justice system and learn how magistrates deal with around 85% of criminal cases in England and Wales. We'll walk by Pann Mill during it's Open Day while discussing everything from local crime and justice to policing past and present.
From the site of the 1736 hangings on The Rye to tales of 18th-century highwaymen and the controversial Mitford sisters of Marsh Green Mill, this walk brings to life some of the most intriguing stories from High Wycombe's past.
The walk will take approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes and is suitable for anyone interested in local history, crime, justice, and the stories behind High Wycombe's past.
