Augustine House, Canterbury Christchurch University

A fine modern building opened in 2009 designed by ADP architects. It houses library and student support facilities, conference and exhibition areas. It has a grand atrium revealing glimpses of the Cathedral and City walls. The building is supported on 258 structural piles which geothermally provide 20% of its energy, and its carbon emissions have been reduced by 23%. It has a BREEAM rating of Very Good. Event not suitable for children under the age of 7.

Assemble outside the main entrance for access at 1400.

Additional information

Max 20 people per tour/session. Students will be working in the library and corridors, and as the tours are unguided, visitors discretion whilst enjoying the property would be greatly appreciated.


Augustine House is opposite Dane John Gardens on the other side of the ring road. Parking available in the public car park behind Dane John Gardens or in the multi storey car park on the other side of Watling Street.
