Halton House, RAF Halton Officers’ Mess

Royal Air Force, Halton Camp, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP22 5NN

A rare opportunity to visit the weekend country house and gardens of Alfred de Rothschild. Built between 1880 and 1884 in the style of a French Ch√Ęteau, for 30 years it provided the venue for Rothschild's weekend parties.

In 1918 the house was acquired by the Royal Air Force and for the past 98 years has served as the Officer's Mess for RAF Halton.

A shuttle bus will run between Halton House, the Trenchard Museum, the James McCudden Flight Heritage Centre , the Reconstructed Trenches and the Halton Village Festival.

The Trenchard Museum tells the story of RAF Halton in WWI and the RAF Apprentice Scheme.

This event took place in September 2016 and the entry is now archived.
