A matinee screening of "Edgar Wood - a painted veil", displays and information about church architects George Woodhouse and Edgar Wood, tours of church, a short local walk and light refreshments.
1.30 pm - 2.30 pm Screening of the 2018 film on the life and times of Middleton-born architect Edgar Wood, directed by Anthony Dolan. Edgar Wood designed the chancel and vestry extension at Lindley Methodist church. The original church building was designed by Lindley-born architect George Woodhouse. Visitors will be able to find out more about both architects via the displays and information stall. Members of the Edgar Wood Heritage Group will be in attendance to talk to visitors and give tours of the church along with church representatives. A short one-hour walk starting from the church at 3.30 pm led by local historian David Vergusson, pointing out other buildings in Lindley, designed by both architects will also be on offer. Light refreshments will be served following the matinee screening.
