Pleshey Castle , Main Street , Pleshey, Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 1HD
Pleshey Castle is a Norman motte and bailey castle. There are no built structures surviving, but the earthworks are in very good condition, and the views from the top of the mound around central Essex are spectacular. The tour includes a talk by Nick Wickenden of Chelmsford Museum, setting the historical scene. The mound is reached across a 15th century brick bridge.
This event took place in September 2016 and the entry is now archived.
